As the owner and Executive Chairman of American Kiosk Management, LLC (AKM) and CEO of North American Kiosk, LLC (NAK), entrepreneur Max F. James operates retail kiosks all over the U.S. In addition to conducting business in all 50 states, Max James also provides solutions in Canada and Puerto Rico. Through both of his firms, Max James employs more than 1,400 staff members at hundreds of kiosks.

Max F. James formerly worked in the real estate, hotel, and nutraceutical industries before learning about the sales potential of mall kiosks. After establishing a partnership with the Guthy Renker Company, Max F. James began selling skincare product Proactiv from 6 kiosks through AKM, expanding to 40 within 2 years. During the early years, Max F. James developed relationships with financial partners who invested in individual carts, and he eventually started NAK through Guthy Renker. This new firm, after buying all of the existing kiosks from Max F. James and his investors, formed an agreement with James to oversee daily operations. Currently, Max F. James functions as the sole owner of both businesses.

Max F. James was raised on a Tennessee farm before relocating to Colorado to pursue his interest in flying at the United States Air Force Academy. After graduating, Max F. James joined Cape Canaveral’s Astronaut Recovery Program. Next, Max F. James volunteered with the air rescue service in the Vietnam War and returned home where he served as a Combat Instructor Pilot. Max James went on to earn an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
