Formerly one of the nation’s best defensive football players, Melvin Ferguson is the Head Coach of the semi-professional Minnesota Valley Wolfpack football team. Under Ferguson’s leadership, the Burnsville, Minnesota-based team has been ranked 18th in an AFCA coaches poll and named MSL Conference Champs. In his fourth year of managing the team, Coach Ferguson is greatly anticipating the impending season of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, promoting, and marketing for the Wolfpack.

Melvin Ferguson was born in the Bahamas, and while living there, coached the Bahamas Commonwealth American Football League team called the Pros. In his first season, Ferguson took his team to the Pennant and the following season won the National Championship. In the following years, Melvin Ferguson founded the Freeport Panthers Football Organization and coached them to the National Championships, although they lost to the Pros.

In addition to his coaching, Melvin Ferguson has extensive experience as a corporate businessman. For over 20 years, he has acted as the President and CEO of the United States’ top sports and entertainment company: CA Sports. An internationally recognized corporation, CA Sports invests in various national semi-professional and college sports organizations and actively evaluates, recruits, and trains budding young American and Bahamian athletes looking to pursue a career in sports. Under Mr. Ferguson’s direction, hundreds of amateur athletes have landed contracts or won scholarships at colleges and universities across the United States.

An athletic scholarship honoree himself, Melvin Ferguson understands how important sports sponsorships are to athletes, and he and his company have donated millions of dollars to struggling and underprivileged athletes through a number of sports foundations. Currently, the University of Minnesota alumnus is a Philanthropist for the Diversified Sports Management Group Incorporated and a supporter of As One Foundation, Police Athletic League, and Commonwealth American Football League, in addition to being actively involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Lakeville Youth Athletic League, which is based in Melvin’s city of residence.
