Best known for her work with on large-scale projects in the airline/airport industry, Michelle Robinson also collaborates with clients to manage and design projects for sustainable, community-conscious ground transportation. She works out of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, for clients around the country. As the Manager of Station Planning and Design at Amtrak, Michelle Robinson gained valuable insight into the rail transportation industry, where she managed the renovation of existing rail stations and the development of new ones, wrote grant proposals, sat on planning groups, and spoke at various industry conferences. Working with planning groups and buildings relationships with surrounding communities to revitalize areas around train stations, she learned the importance of engaging all stakeholders to pursue a sustainability-oriented vision, a continuing cornerstone of her business philosophy. For her acumen redeveloping transportation hubs, Amtrak continues to invite her to speak on the topic at the company’s Great American Stations Foundation symposiums. As Principal of Michelle Robinson Architects (MRA), located just outside of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, she has worked on numerous other ground transportation projects, including as space planning and architectural consultant on several multimodal facility projects throughout the country. New York City selected Michelle Robinson for advisory services on the Moynihan Station Revitalization Project. The Delaware Department of Transportation also worked with Michelle Robinson on a variety of important projects. Delaware demonstrated its confidence in Michelle Robinson’s skills by appointing her as Consultant and Project Manager for the state’s Transportation Enhancement Program, which oversaw the renovation and preservation of historic transportation buildings, including train stations and lighthouses. In addition, Michelle Robinson’s versatility in transportation design enabled her to develop statewide masterplans for bicycle and pedestrian facilities. For high-publicity projects generating substantial community interests such as these, Michelle Robinson coordinates various consultants and members of the public to generate broad-based support for them.
