Mobile Health Researcher

Mitali Thakor is coordinating a mobile phone study of adolescent health and sexuality through Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Mitali studied Anthropology and Feminist Studies at Stanford University and researched mobile phone usage dynamics of Indian sex workers for her honors thesis. She has worked with local organizations of the Gujarat State AIDS Control Society and also interned at the International Labor Organization-Bangkok, studying strategies for trafficking prevention and sex workers’ rights in the Southeast Asia region. She will be pursuing her PhD at MIT in Science, Technology, & Society to continue researching at the intersections of health, tech, and sexuality.
