Over the course of her 23-year career, Mona Samuels-Sego has conducted investigations into the operations of large government organizations and managed teams with the U.S. Department of Education (ED), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), United States Postal Service (USPS), and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Mona Samuels-Sego began her professional career as a flight attendant, taking advantage of the opportunities it afforded for traveling the world. Subsequently, she began her career as an Auditor, starting first at the Defense Contract Audit Agency before moving on to the Office of Inspector General. Over the course of her years as a public servant, Mona Samuels-Sego has developed strategies and methods for investigating fraud, exposing corruption, and drawing attention to inefficiencies. Mona Samuels-Sego’s supervisory work has given her a set of management skills that include the ability to establish professional relationships with a diverse staff, analyze organizational problems, and share critical advice for strategic planning. As a result of her experience and expertise, Mona Samuels-Sego has been responsible for saving the public many tax dollars and for the implementation of several changes in regulatory policy. In addition to her professional skills, Mona Samuels-Sego possesses an undergraduate degree in accounting. She has also earned a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Business Administration. Her personal credentials include a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and Certified Law Enforcement Auditor (CLEA). These formal certifications have allowed Mona Samuels-Sego to work as an Auditor-In-Charge, Supervisory Auditor, and Manager for a variety of positions within the Office of Inspector General. Mona Samuels-Sego enjoys membership in professional organizations, such as the Association of Government Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the International Law Enforcement Auditors Association.
