Monica Mukerjee will graduate from Michigan State University in 2008 in international relations and psychology. Her research focuses on the gendered impact of sexual violence during war. Selected as a Truman Scholar for her commitment to public service, Monica has worked as a sexual assault and crisis counselor, medical advocate, and director of children’s theatre workshops. She is a guest editor for a special-edition volume of MSU Women in Development Working Papers, which will be on rape in violent conflict. She will read for a degree in Forced Migration at Oxford University to work towards improving lives within conflict zones.
