Longtime entrepreneur Steve Neely created the Center for AIDS Prevention four years ago, endeavoring to find strategic partners and sponsors that would grant the nonprofit access to the resources needed for funding clinical research and far-reaching awareness campaigns. Under Neely’s direction, the center focuses on sustainable change through education of children and caretakers. Beyond the center, Steve Neely has actively engaged with his community through leadership positions at a variety of organizations. He served on the board of Cinema/Chicago, helping to plan and execute the annual Chicago International Film Festival, and held similar appointments at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and The Executives’ Club of Chicago. This club offers a forum for business professionals to discuss best practices and leadership techniques. Neely additionally acted board member of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, an organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Illinois. As an entrepreneur, Steve Neely has consistently sought out emerging markets for new business opportunities. In the early 1990s, he established the nation’s first wireless phone retailer in Chicago, the birthplace of cellular technology. Within a short period of time, Neely managed outlets around the country that worked with several providers, including T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. In recognition of his innovation, Ernst & Young nominated Neely as an Entrepreneur of the Year in 1995. Steve Neely’s most recent project, SereniTea, seeks to capitalize on the growing interest in health food in the United States. The beverage company offers multiple varieties of calorie- and carbohydrate-free green teas with double the antioxidants of traditionally steeped tea. In addition to his work with SereniTea, Neely provides consultant services to private small- and mid-sized companies, leveraging more than 30 years of managerial experience. He focuses on executive coaching and long-term strategizing and has worked with a number of prominent international companies.
