NanaWall Systems, Inc. is a pioneer in both the function and design of glass windows and doors.

Mill Valley, California

The NanaWall blends the best aspects of large windows, folding doors, and wall durability in order to create a unique room solution that brings new dimensional possibilities to any living space. The esthetic and practical use of a wall of windows that folds together is dramatic, and NanaWall Systems’ sales illustrates this demand. Contractors and architects in need of modern spatial augmentation regularly rely on NanaWall Systems. In 1996, NanaWall Systems partnered with one of the world’s top glass wall developers, which helped the company improve upon established glass wall technology. With a product referred to in media as the “door that does more,” NanaWall Systems used its relationship with the glass wall developer to spark significant product innovation, which has helped NanaWall become an international success. NanaWall Systems meets Energy Star ratings and has become an important supporter of the green movement by showcasing outdoor views and stressing environmentally friendly design practices. The NanaWall effectively injects indoor patio capabilities into a living space. Unlike traditional open air patios, the NanaWall opening can be closed to protect from bad weather, effectively producing year-round durability and comfort. The NanaWall can also be used in restaurants and stores, allowing window shoppers and potential customers optimum viewing capacity as they pass and a wide entrance should they choose to enter. The NanaWall features an innovative locking design that reduces the chance of forced entry, and it is also acoustic, with dramatic sound damping abilities that provide unobstructed viewing free from auditory disturbances.

NanaWall offers a selection of Energy Star-compliant installations for commercial and residential clients. A program designed to create businesses and products that are energy efficient, Energy Star is the product of a joint effort between the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the United States Department of Energy (DOE). Energy-efficient products reduce costs and benefit the environment, a point that was proven in 2010 when, with the aid of Energy Star, Americans prevented emissions equivalent to those of 33 million cars and saved nearly $18 billion on utility bills by using installations from NanaWall and other providers of Energy Star products.

Energy Star products are required to meet certain standards established by the EPA and DOE to ensure that products with an Energy Star label are cost and energy efficient. The percentage of savings or energy used in comparison to the minimum government standard typically determines products’ ratings. Although the Energy Star Program originated in the United States, it has since become an international standard, implemented in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, and the European Union.

Household appliances and other products, in addition to houses as a whole, can earn an Energy Star label if they qualify. Refrigerators, dishwashers, heat pumps, boilers, air-conditioning systems, furnaces, lighting implements, and other appliances with the yellow Energy Star tag will compare their annual costs to those of other models. Created by the DOE, these tags will also often indicate if an appliance meets Energy Star standards of quality.

Energy Star also lists specifications for home offices and new houses, with office equipment, lighting, and computers all factoring into the Energy Star rating for the former. Energy Star-qualified homes, on the other hand, must use at least 15% less energy than those that comply with the 2004 International Residential Code. Insulation, windows, construction, ducts, systems for cooling and heating, and other factors are measured against the standard to determine whether or not a given home qualifies for the Energy Star rating.
