Nasser Arshadi earned his Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Nebraska. Currently the University of Missouri – St. Louis Vice Provost for Research, Nasser Arshadi is a leading expert in the fields of microeconomics, risk assessment/management, and capital markets. A published author and frequent lecturer, Nasser Arshadi recently spoke at the Missouri Regional Life Sciences Summit, a conference that held forums on research collaboration, emerging technologies, and business investments. He is co-author of two books: Modern Financial Intermediaries and Markets, published by Prentice Hall, and The Law and Finance of Corporate Insider Trading, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers. Additionally, Nasser Arshadi is deeply involved in academic, economic, and life science communities.

Nasser Arshadi serves as a board member of the Center of Research, Technology, and Entrepreneurial Exchange (CORTEX). CORTEX is a non-profit organization that aims to further life sciences research, development, and marketing. CORTEX is a collaborative effort of Washington University, University of St. Louis Missouri, Missouri Botanical Garden, BJC Healthcare, and St. Louis University. As board member, Nasser Arshadi is excited to contribute to the growth of CORTEX, a business district on several acres of land in St. Louis. In addition to CORTEX, Nasser Arshadi is a board member of The Center of Emerging Technologies (CET), an organization that actualized its goal of new incubator/accelerator space. Currently, CET possesses 92,000 square feet of space. Besides CORTEX and CET, Nasser Arshadi is the founder IT Enterprises (ITe), a biotech and IT startup incubator, and the Regional Art Council (RAC).

Leading an active role in many organizations, Nasser Arshadi also fulfills a significant role at the University of Missouri – St Louis as Vice Provost for Research. Nasser Arshadi heads the University’s research programs and overseeing economic development activities.
