Travel professional Natalie Le Clerc has spent more than twenty years working in every aspect of international travel, and today serves as a senior executive at Red Carnations Hotels which belongs to The Travel Corporation’s list of popular tour operators. Le Clerc became skilled at the profession through a variety of jobs in the industry, including being a stewardess on a luxury yacht; serving as a restaurant supervisor in the UK; working as a transport manager in a major resort chain; and managing operations at a number of international resorts.

Beginning in Tour Operations

Following her local education in Australian public schools, Natalie Le Clerc earned a diploma from the Traveland College in Sydney. She went to work for Traveland, a retail travel agency, and for five years she promoted the company to new and niche markets, maintained the budget and finances, sold travel packages, handled correspondence with airlines and hotels and dealt with customer service. When she left the job in 1996, she spent two years working as transport manager at Club Med Farukolhufushi, in the Republic of Maldives, and at Club Med Lindeman Island in her native Australia. Her duties included coordinating all transport operations for clients to and from the resorts. In 1998, she worked on cruises as a stewardess with the luxury charter Taipan Sailing Yacht, in the Mediterranean, as well as taking on a supervisor position in a bar/restaurant in the UK. Both of these roles were centered around the guest services of the business, and also including inventory, and stock control management.

Contiki Calls

In 1999 Natalie Le Clerc became employed by Contiki Tours as a coordinator and leader of European tours for groups of travelers aged 18-35. She led groups to 20 European countries on trips that often lasted more than a month. She was then selected by Contiki to be a new product developer and was promoted to the role of guest services manager at Great Keppel Island’s new Contiki resort. She began as an activities and entertainment supervisor and later managed the offices, entertainment, spas, and customer service for the resort. She also worked at Contiki’s resort that was in Mykonos, Greece, where she was the interim resort manager. She fulfilled Contiki resort policy for the new establishment as well as took responsibility for the general office, entertainment, food and beverage and tour operators. She was also charged with explaining and implementing Contiki’s business policy and culture to the local Greek employees. In 2005 Natalie Le Clerc became the assistant general manager at Contiki’s Resort in Bali, Indonesia and was promoted to the role of general manager in 2007. In 2008, she provided oversight for the rebranding, remodeling and opening of the new resort, The Breezes Resort and Spa, where she was also General Manager. She handled all operations and oversaw all departments in the resort including maintenance, finance, promotion and marketing, security as well as participation in networking events and trade shows. In 2010 she was offered the position of general manager of Mountbatten Resorts Indonesia of Mountbatten Resorts Indonesia., where she worked until, taking on her new role of Senior Executive of Red Carnation Hotels, in 2011.
