Nick Emery is making a career out of being a student. This being the case, he is about to retire in 3 months and get a real job. His love of culinary arts and food lead him out of High School to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park N.Y. for his associate’s degree in culinary arts. His love of learning propelled him to Grove City College where he studied biology to the point that he should have been given an endowed chair in the library. His desire to bring hospitality, art and science together lands him 12 inches from the nose of strangers where he spends his days winning their trust and earning their affection with a dental drill. Not the easiest thing in the world, but one of the most gratifying. He is still practicing dentistry as a student, but his first “real job” will begin during his residency as a dentist in a few months. When Nick is not studying, practicing dentistry or writing in the third person he still loves to cook for himself and others, read, sail and ski like it was his job. He loves the outdoors and wide open spaces, and why not? After all he spends his days 12 inches from the faces of others, and not all of them brush.
