Omar Abou Ghaouche grew up in Foz do Iguaçu, a popular tourist destination in Brazil’s southwestern Paraná state. Omar Abou Ghaouche moved to the city with his parents and younger brother when he was seven years old, where he attended school and helped manage the family business. Foz do Iguaçu borders Argentina and Paraguay, and the city attracts visitors from Brazil and Argentina, as well as from North America, Europe, and Asia. Omar Abou Ghaouche is particularly fond of the Iguaçu Falls, straddling the Brazilian and Argentine borders. The Iguaçu Falls have three times the flow capacity of Niagara Falls, the name Iguaçu comes from Guarani and Tupi words meaning big water. As a child, Omar Abou Ghaouche became involved in his parents’ trade company, which exported clothing to Paraguay and Argentina. Omar Abou Ghaouche managed a store for his parents starting at the age of fifteen. After high school, Omar Abou Ghaouche enrolled at the Universidade de Marília in São Paulo, where he earned a degree in dentistry. Omar Abou Ghaouche has also studied in Paraguay at Universidad Católica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. In 1998, Omar Abou Ghaouche returned to Foz do Iguaçu, where he was involved in humanitarian and volunteer activities aimed at helping the city’s underprivileged. Foz do Iguaçu has relatively high standards of education and healthcare and is a must-see destination. Omar Abou Ghaouche’s professional activities include translation services, and Omar Abou Ghaouche is able to speak and write Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, and English. In 2006, Omar Abou Ghaouche immigrated to the United States, leaving his business in Foz do Iguaçu under the care of his younger brother. Omar Abou Ghaouche is currently based in Kennesaw, Georgia.
