In addition to providing state-of-the-art, real-time data collection, analysis, and reporting tools for the public sector, Optimal Solutions Group also maintains a number of Research Centers that seek solutions to the complex problems facing government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
These Centers are divided into four categories: Education; Health; Housing, Economic Development, and Transportation; and Workforce Development and Social Policy. Each Center employs an interdisciplinary team of researchers, with expertise spanning fields such as statistics, policy development, health care provision, educational psychology, and other areas of social science.
The Optimal Solutions Group Workforce Development and Social Policy Research Center (WDSPRC) conducts analyses of labor markets, examines wage mandates, and creates forecasts for the labor market. Optimal also looks at issues such as the role of fathers in the development of children, methods for enforcing child support, and welfare reform options.
The Optimal Solutions Group Housing, Economic Development and Transportation Research Center (HEDTRC) conducts its own research and provides technical assistance to other organizations in the community development or urban planning field. Working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), HEDTRC has provided the information necessary to set baselines for the department’s 602 Nonprofit Disposition Program. This Center has also designed and implemented surveys, provided custom econometric modeling, and designed impact analyses.
The Health Policy Research Center (HPRC) maintained by Optimal Solutions Group has assisted federal and state government in assessing the potential impacts of policy changes, developing methodologies for reducing waste, and setting up fraud-detection mechanisms. Optimal’s HPRC also provides expert opinion on improvements to chronic care and prescription drug programs.
In the Education Research Center, Optimal Solutions Group designs performance measures for students and educators, helps with the collection of primary data, and suggests policy changes for improved outcomes.
Supporting the work of all of these Research Centers, the Optimal Solutions Group analytics departments create secure, web-based tools for the real-time collection, viewing, and analysis of data. These systems are designed with customization and ease of use in mind, with comprehensive reporting available via a dashboard interface.
