Reputation.com Chief Operating Officer (COO) Owen Tripp maintains expertise in security technologies and emerging threats to individual privacy in the social graph. Mr. Tripp established Reputation.com as ReputationDefender.com with Michael Fertik in 2006, initially holding responsibilities as Executive Vice President of Market Development. In this capacity, he developed the company’s Web-focused products, MyEdge (now ReputationDefender) and MyPrivacy, which give individuals more control over their information online. These services have since been augmented with additional Reputation.com products that meet distinct market needs, including MyReputation and MyChild.

Owen Tripp currently works out of Reputation.com’s Redwood City, California, headquarters, providing strategic and operational leadership in the areas of sales channels, strategy, and corporate development. He also helps ensure product fulfillment goals through consistently high standards of customer service. In 2011, Mr. Tripp achieved recognition from the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, when Reputation.com was named one of 25 Technology Pioneers. The award reflected his work helping Reputation.com develop technologies that have the potential to alter business and society. Owen Tripp maintains affiliation with the Future of Privacy Forum, an industry-focused think tank that works towards responsibility in data collection practices, promoting a greater focus on individual privacy.

A cum laude graduate of Trinity College, Owen Tripp completed his MBA at Stanford University, focusing on entrepreneurship, product design, and venture capital. Mr. Tripp’s professional background includes three years as Manager of eBay, Inc.’s User Behavior Intelligence team, one of the largest data-mining platforms in the industry. His responsibilities involved modeling the entire breadth of buyer behavior on the firm’s e-commerce platform and drawing analytic conclusions from collected data. Mr. Tripp launched his career with a position at Accenture, building and managing large-scale business process outsourcing (BPO) centers in Southeast Asia. He notably led a multi-shift BPO operation in the Philippines.
