Reducing
your environmental footprint without sacrificing personal comfort or style is
now possible with the interior design of Mark Nichols Modern Interiors of Palm
Springs, California. Earning the highest accreditation from the U.S. Green
Building Council in sustainable building practices, Nichols stresses to Palm
Springs homeowners that "going green" does not mean going without.
Re-defining what it means to be eco-friendly, Mark Nichols Modern Interiors
specializes in creating beautiful interior designs that are at once luxurious
and functional and promote healthy indoor atmospheres. Nichols
uses natural, organic, and environmentally safe materials including fabrics
with recycled content, paper-based surface materials, and reclaimed woods to
promote ecological sustainability in Palm Springs. His innovative approach to
interior design draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding
desert landscape and contemporary European aesthetics. Designing modern,
spacious interiors that harmonize with the openness of Palm Springs’ natural
environment, Nichols has received recognition for his work in the Los Angeles
Times West Magazine, California Home and Design, and Metropolitan Home. Recently
named by HGTV as one of America's Top 10 Designers, he is a highly sought-after
member of the Palm Springs interior design community. A graduate of the
University of California, Los Angeles, he created his interior design studio in
Palm Springs in 2004 after working as Project Manager for Patton Design Studio.
When not envisioning innovative ways to combine environmental sustainability
with interior design, he enjoys donating to the Friends of the Palm Springs Animal
Shelter and the Desert AIDS Project. He also maintains an active membership
with the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation and serves as the Chair of the
City of Palm Springs Sustainability Commission.
