  • Beginning the Bankruptcy Process by Patrick Cordero
    May, 2012
We ask clients not to equate bankruptcy with failure. Instead, view it as a fresh start, one that actually helps many people get their finances on track and establish a stronger credit rating than before. Before your first appointment with us, we will ask you to bring in paperwork detailing your property, income, debts, and other information. Next, we draft a bankruptcy petition. Once you sign the petition, we file it with the court, which initiates an automatic stay; creditors must talk to us, not to you, about debts. Most of our clients no longer have to deal with stressful calls from collectors.

As the process reaches its conclusion, you will obtain an order of discharge from the court, enroll in a debtor education course, and receive your fresh financial start.
