The Patrick C. Haley Mansion
February, 2011
The Patrick C. Haley Mansion offers a combination of traditional 19th century decor and 21st century amenities, making it a top-tier wedding destination in the Chicago area. A historical landmark, the limestone mansion was designed in the late 1880s by the respected architect and Egyptologist Frank Shaver Allen for then Joliet mayor Patrick C. Haley.
The Patrick C. Haley Mansion features quality furnishings and period woodwork in hand-carved oak, mahogany, and cherry. Delicate touches abound, creating an atmosphere of unmistakable luxury: elegantly draped window frames an early hand-crank gramophone set on a small wood table. Large vases filled with seasonal flowers sit on a window alcove, beckoning guests to enjoy the afternoon sun.
Chandeliers and other period light fixtures hang from ceilings, casting a warm glow throughout the mansion. Six fireplaces inhabit mansion rooms, evoking a time when hearth fires provided cozy warmth through long winters. The ballroom offers dancers a place to enjoy each other`s company, bathed in natural light. The mansion also offers immaculately landscaped grounds, with a patio, brook, pond, and waterfalls, and a lawn area with white pergola for wedding ceremonies. Our experienced staff has long familiarity with the residence and works with clients in planning events with just the right catering, music, and ambience. Weddings and celebrations held at the Patrick Haley Mansion are cherished events remembered for years to come by hosts and guests alike.
