As the Vice President for Corporate Affairs with Cintra Developments, Patrick Rhode brings almost two decades of experience working in both public and private sectors. Cintra Developments is one of the premier transportation infrastructure companies in the world.

Before Patrick Rhode joined Cintra, he was the Senior Advisor for Communications to the NASA Administrator for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which struggled to fend off image problems. Rhode often led and addressed problematic subjects through a recommended national media response. In addition, Patrick Rhode developed and implemented successful educational outreach to explain the relevance of NASA and the benefits of space exploration to our citizens.

Part of Patrick Rhode’s private sector experience included work at BearingPoint at it’s Director of Homeland Security and Intelligence. Rhode was named by the President of the United States as the first Chief of Staff of FEMA, within the newly then created Department of Homeland Security, which is a position that is handpicked by the President of the United States. He also held responsibility for working to consolidate more than 20 entities into the Department of Homeland Security and managing Presidential Emergency and Disaster Declarations, playing a pivotal role by debriefing the White House regarding situational awareness, and working with the White House and state and local organizations to eventually overcome some of the most historically damaging disasters in our nation’s history.

In addition, Patrick Rhode was the Associate Administrator and Communications Director for the United States Small Business Administration and was a Technology Administration Communications Director for The United States Department of Commerce. As a Special Assistant to the President of the United States, he managed public events and the President’s public perception and image across the country.

Patrick Rhode gained his reputation as a communications and public affairs strategist beginning in the Texas government where he was named employee of the year at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
Patrick Rhode began his career as a television reporter and news anchor in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas in Political Science.
