As a certified Recreational Therapist, Patrick Schaal found the opportunity to develop the interpersonal skills necessary to excel in his career as a pharmaceutical Account Executive. Educated at the University of Toledo in Ohio, Schaal earned a Bachelor of Education in therapeutic education in 2000 while serving an internship at the Neuroscience and Restorative Care Center of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. After graduating, Schaal quickly found work as a therapist at the Rehabilitation Institute of New York, New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Patrick Schaal’s work as a therapist did not limit him to dealing exclusively with patients; he often consulted with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient needs. His previous collaborations with doctors came in handy when Schaal took his career in a different direction as a pharmaceutical Account Executive. First working with Takeda Pharmaceuticals/Publicis Selling Solutions in 2006, Schaal developed professional relationships with physicians in award-winning efforts to sell sleep and constipation prescription products. Next, Schaal worked at Wright Medical Technology, Inc., as an Account Manager, where he was responsible for triggering 200 percent growth in the tendon augmentation patch business, which exceeded sales goals. Schaal continued his success at EMC Corporation, selling $2.7 million of hardware, software and professional services and handling the company’s single-largest transaction worth $425,000. Currently, Schaal utilizes his skills at CA Technologies where he negotiates regularly with hospitals and state committees.
