Paul W. Helbock is a former Sergeant Supervisor of a Detective Squad with the New York City Police Department (NYPD)

A well-known and respected figure in law enforcement circles, Paul W. Helbock had a long and successful career as a Sergeant Supervisor of a Detective Squad with the New York City Police Department (NYPD). During his time with the NYPD, Helbock participated in numerous investigations with multiple agencies; Paul was a Supervisor on the Joint NYPD-FBI Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) for six years, a Detective Investigator with the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (NYDETF) for four years, and a Supervisor on the Major Case Squad (MCS) for six years. Working in concert with so many agencies put Helbock in a unique position to participate in a variety of cases. With the JTTF, Paul Helbock gained experience with national and international terrorism investigations, and with MCS, he supervised investigations into kidnappings, as well as bank robberies. His time as a Detective Investigator with NYDETF exposed him to international narcotics deals. Over the years, Mr. Helbock had the opportunity to participate in several high-profile cases, including the “Lackawanna 6” Terrorism Investigation, the Albany, New York Mosque Imam Investigation, and the Maryland Sniper Investigation. In total, Helbock has worked on upwards of 200 kidnapping investigations, and he was the media spokesman for the NYPD in the Bank Robberies division. Paul Helbock graduated from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, New York with his Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Police Science. In his spare time, Paul enjoys working on home improvement projects at his home in Montrose, New York. Paul is a voracious reader who enjoys the works of Nelson DeMille. He is a member of ASIS International and the American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement.
