Paul Stancato is an accomplished director, choreographer, performer, and teacher.

Paul Stancato, an award-winning director and choreographer based in New York, possesses a well-rounded portfolio of creative and theatrical projects. Paul Stancato received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance from Western Illinois University and earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Florida. Before launching his career in theatre, Paul Stancato played drums for the Chicago rock ban, Voodoo Buss. In 2002, Paul Stancato teamed up with band mates Chris Blisset and Matt Uremovich, to produce ROCKSHOW, a multimedia performance that combined Paul Stancato’s passions: rock music and theatre.

Boasting a richly diverse background, Paul Stancato performed with the Blue Man Group and in the popular cult show, De La Guarda. Moreover, Paul Stancato was one of six choreographers selected for highly competitive DanceBreak. Paul Stancato directed the First National Tour of The Wedding Singer, debuting in 2007. Paul Stancato subsequently served as the Assistant to the great American Choreographer and Director, Rob Ashford, during Broadway’s production of The Wedding Singer, ultimately nominated for two Tony awards, Best Musical and Best Choreography.

From 2006 to 2010, Paul Stancato served as Resident Director of Disney’s The Lion King national tour. After dedicating four years to the highly acclaimed show, Paul Stancato decided to retire from that project to pursue new work.

    Paul Stancato earned an MFA though the University of Florida’s School of Theatre and Dance. Located in Gainesville, the University of Florida (UF) boasts an enrollment of more than 50,000 students annually and hosts over 150 research institutes across 16 colleges.
