Mr. Peter Curcio holds a distinguished, two-decade tenure with the New York City Department of Correction.

An award-winning graduate of John Jay College in New York City, Peter Curcio earned a B.S. in Police Science with Honors. Peter Curcio has also been educated at New York City Technical College, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Moreover, Peter Curcio has participated in a number of instructional programs, including the Office of Homeland Security’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Training, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Fugitive Investigation and Prison Crisis Intervention Training, the Federal Office of Emergency Management’s Incident Command System Training, and the New York City Department of Probation’s Advanced Specialized Field Training. Peter Curcio is also a licensed Private Investigator, a licensed Armed Watch Guard, and a Courtroom Testimony Expert in security devices and gang activity. With impeccable education and training experience, Peter Curcio quickly rose through the ranks during his 24-year career with the New York City Department of Correction. In his last position with the agency, Peter Curcio served as Bureau Chief of Facility Operations in charge of the wardens at all 13 jails under the agency’s control. Peter Curcio was also responsible for emergency preparedness, crisis management, all security-related activity, search procedures, intelligence, and arrest processing, in addition to environmental health and program activity. Before serving in the position of Bureau Chief of Facility Operations, Peter Curcio served as the Bureau Chief of Administration, a 3-Star position, overseeing all agency human resource and administrative functions, including recruitment, training, staff deployment, discipline processing, and overtime and fiscal monitoring. During this time, Peter Curcio also frequently represented his agency on important panels such as the Mayor’s Gun Control Panel, the Continuity of Operations Planning through the Office of Emergency Management, and the Mayor’s World Trade Center Working Group. Today, Peter Curcio trains newly appointed wardens as a Consultant for the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections in Aurora, Colorado.
