Peter Sempepos is a school psychologist for the Berkley Heights Public School system.
Peter L. Sempepos, school psychologist for Berkeley Heights Public Schools in New Jersey, is a community-oriented person dedicated to the advancement of young minds. Knowing the unique challenges kids and adolescents face, Peter L. Sempepos chose to dedicate his life to guiding them along their unique, individual paths. This includes counseling, creating educational programs, performing psychological evaluations, mediating interventions, responding to crisis, and running workshops. Peter L. Sempepos also cares about those in the community with special needs. He knows these students can easily be overlooked and left behind. He spoke out at a Board of Education meeting in Berkeley Heights regarding state monitoring of special education, receiving coverage in local newspaper The Independent Press. In 2009, Peter L. Sempepos participated in a charity run organized by the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities/Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County, for the special needs population. Peter L. Sempepos’ dedication to his community can also be seen in his work with The Haven program, a grant-funded program offered through a collaboration between Rutgers’ Center for Applied Psychology and Piscataway Public Schools. In this capacity, he provides clinical services and participates in both training and supervision. He also provides counseling and therapy to individuals and families. Peter L. Sempepos published two papers: “Perceptions of Adolescent Behavior” and a review of the book Adolescent Girls in Crisis: Intervention and Hope.
