Phones 4
Charity

Fundraising organization Phones 4 Charity enables people throughout the United States to recycle their old cell phones while benefiting a charity of their choice.

Canoga Park, California

Based in Canoga Park, California, donation and recycling program Phones 4 Charity has a worldwide reach through its innovative fundraising program. Individuals and nonprofit organizations around the country can set up phone drives to collect old and retired mobile devices; Phones 4 Charity will then refurbish and resell them, donating the profits to any qualified 501©(3) organization on the globe. To date, Phone 4 Charity’s drives have benefited small, community-based organizations like schools, hospitals, youth groups, and amateur sports teams, as well as international nonprofits like Feed the Children, the American Red Cross, and the AIDS Health Care Foundation. With more than 800 million retired and discarded cell phones taking up storage space around the country, Phones 4 Charity is able to benefit the environment and the economy in addition to countless nonprofits. Older working cell phones generate between $1 and $3 per phone, while more current models will yield from $10 to $20 or more. Phones 4 Charity will even accept obsolete models and send them to environmentally safe recycling centers. In addition, Phones 4 Charity collects and sells devices like walkie-talkies, pagers, and two-way radios. To find out more about Phones 4 Charity, visit www.phones4charity.org.
