Well-rounded student Piper Abbate exhibits an aptitude for academics, athletics, and the arts. As a high school student studying abroad at Lycee Hippolyte Fontaine in Dijon, France, and finishing at Laguna Beach High School in California. Ms. Abbate demonstrated writing skills that ranked her in the top five percent of students taking the ACT college placement exam.

Athletically, Piper Abbate stands apart for her ability and effort. The Laguna Beach High School girls’ basketball team highlighted her as the Most Inspirational Player, and the Laguna Beach High School girls’ softball team honored her with the award of Best Defensive Player.

Offered admission to several universities, such as Sonoma State University and Humboldt State University, Piper Abbate ultimately chose to attend the City College of San Francisco (CCSF), where she currently studies photography. Ms. Abbate’s photographic talent has placed her as a finalist for the Barbara Stewart Memorial Photography Scholarship, awarded to the most promising photography students at CCSF.

Piper Abbate not only pursues photography in a college environment, but publications such as Blisss Magazine and OC Weekly have also featured her work. Additionally, Ms. Abbate exhibited her photographs in the 2010 TrashPretty ArtWalk.

A purveyor of vintage clothing and merchandise appealing to offbeat, modern youth culture, TrashPretty is also a focal point in the underground music scene of Laguna Beach and Orange County. In addition to providing photography for the store, Piper Abbate also acts a Buyer and coordinates musical events and performances featuring artists such as Para Vach, The Vex, and The Growlers. She is a fan of live music.
