Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant

A D.C. favorite, Dukem’s food is deliciously spicy, bolder than many other Ethiopian restaurants that seem to tone it down for the masses. The variety of vegetarian options is a popular draw, as are the Dukem special tibs, cubed lamb or beef fried with “special sauce.” It’s usually busy and they often run out of things, such as Ethiopian beer and the sambusa appetizer, but Dukem is a widely recognized as having some of the best Ethiopian food in the country. Live bands play Ethiopian music most nights.
