Martin's Tavern

Martin’s Tavern, in the Georgetown section of Washington DC, is one of the most celebrated taverns in the county. It is a “home away from home” for Georgetowners, movers and shakers, celebrities, and just plain people. “Meet me at Martin’s” is a common phrase in DC. Founded in 1933, every president from Truman on has stopped by Martin’s. Today it is a favored “watering hole” and gathering place for locals who enjoy the comfort food, the good talk and companionship, and being in a place so steeped in history.
