Smithsonian Freer Gallery and Authur M. Sacker Galleries
The Freer Gallery of Art and the Authur Sackler Gallery are located on the National Mall and connected by an underground exhibition hall. Together they have one of the strongest collections of Asian art in the world. These include arts from ancient Egypt, from the ancient Near-East, the Islamic Arts Collection, Biblical Manuscripts, Chinese art, Japanese art, Korean art, Southeastern and Himalayan art. The Galleries also include American Art including works by Winslow Homer and over 1300 works by James McNeill Whistler.
