An experienced finance professional, Mr. Przemyslaw Hewelt brings a diverse skill set to his current position as Area Manager of Financial Institutions for AIB Capital Markets. In this position since 2003, Przemyslaw Hewelt manages a team of four bank analysts responsible for producing regular credit research on 350 banks in the Central and Eastern European region, the Western European region, Latin America, and Africa. Przemyslaw Hewelt’s role as Area Manager involves directing his team’s research efforts and presenting their findings to the AIB Capital Markets Credit Committees. Currently, Przemyslaw Hewelt bases his operations out of Poznan, Poland, though he frequently travels throughout the world to conduct business. Concurrent to his work with AIB Capital Markets, Mr. Przemyslaw Hewelt serves as Head of Treasury Credit for Bank Zachodni WBK (BZWBK) in Poland. In this position, Przemyslaw Hewelt manages two important teams, Corporate Credit and Risk Control. Known as a strong leader, Przemyslaw Hewelt successfully expanded his team at BZWBK from 3 employees to 10 in only five years, allowing the bank to take on challenges with more flexibility and confidence. Przemyslaw Hewelt is a full member of the BZWBK Credit Committee. Prior to accepting the position of Head of Treasury Credit, Przemyslaw Hewelt served BZWBK in the dual role of Head of Research and Head of Investor Relations. Przemyslaw Hewelt’s early experience in finance also included positions in credit rating analysis and regulatory management. Extensively educated, Przemyslaw Hewelt holds multiple graduate degrees, including a Master’s degree in Economics from The Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, Poland, and a PhD in Banking from The Nottingham Trent University. While completing his doctorate, Przemyslaw Hewelt completed a multi-country study focused on understanding the impact of deregulation on crisis situations in banks. In his spare time, Przemyslaw Hewelt enjoys being with his family and contributing to the Polish Lutheran quarterly magazine “Warto.”
