Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin, an award-winning author of books on religion, tackles a variety of topics that are pertinent to today’s generation. A New York native, Rabbi Salkin presently resides in Georgia, where he serves Temple Israel, a historic Reform congregation in Columbus. In addition to his duties at the synagogue, Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin travels extensively to teach and educate others while also lending religious support and guidance.

Incorporating a modern perspective into his teachings, Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin discusses a wide range of issues in his classes and workshops such as “The Gods Are Broken,” “Jews on the Edge,” “Is God on Your Guest List?,” “The Book of David,” “Reconformadox: Does it Still Matter?,” and “Where are the Men?” His other lectures cover such topics as Jewish mysticism, anti-Semitism, Jewish perspectives on sexuality, and violence in the Bible. Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin founded Kol Echad: Making Judaism Matter, a learning center in the Atlanta, Georgia, area, and created new vistas for adult Jewish engagement, such as classes in coffee shops and book groups held in Borders book stores. Rabbi Salkin has contributed to numerous publications and participated in collaborations with individuals of differing backgrounds.

Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin graduated from State University of New York at Purchase with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. In 1981, he was ordained at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York before pursuing his Doctor of Ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary.
