Ramesh Dhokte enjoys a number of hobbies in addition to his pursuits as a medical professional. Deeply interested in literature, Ramesh Dhokte often studies the works of authors like Pu La Deshpande, Vinda Karandikar, and Va Pu Kale. Ramesh Dhokte also takes part in the All-India Marathi Literature Meet (Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan) to support Marathi literary work. An avid music fan, Ramesh Dhokte also enjoys listening to the work of Hindustani vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi as well as that of Kirti Sharad and Nakshatranche Dene. In addition, Ramesh Dhokte has dedicated a large portion of his energy to charitable causes. Ramesh Dhokte supports Harvest Food Bank and Feed A Child; both causes strive to combat hunger. Ramesh Dhokte continues to urge others to participate in the development of a culture of giving, and he remains engaged with various charitable trusts to support the elderly. Ramesh Dhokte was educated at the University of Pune, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine with distinction. Ramesh Dhokte remains strongly interested in alternative and herbal medicine.
