Reese Jones’s involvement in an astonishing number of public and private endeavors sets him apart as an investor. Reese Jones holds board memberships and partnerships over six exciting concerns: Singularity University, liveBooks, Related Content Database, Current Group, Smaato, Wi3, Jobvite, Moon Express, Genome Compiler and Definitive Stories. A string of accomplishments in engineering and entrepreneurial endeavors precede Reese Jones’s investing career. As the Chief Executive Officer at Farallon, developing PhoneNET, internet sound and infrastructure for phone carrier internet service providers, Reese Jones invented twisted pair networking and the first computer sound software for internet. Reese Jones went on to serve as Chairman of Convergence, a broadband Internet and network management services company for cable company infrastructure. Specializing in strategy and funding through acquisition, Reese Jones remained with Convergence until the company merged to form C-COR. As Chairman at Mediabolic, Reese Jones helped secure VC and Intel funding for the firm and oversaw its growth until its sale to Macrovision for $43.5 million. Reese Jones’s successful entry into the consumer electronics operating system middleware sector was due to Mediabolic’s development of DLNA middleware for consumer media products. Reese Jones’s other business affiliations include investments in and advisor/board member relationships with Rotani, Jobvite, liveBooks, Smaato and Brightstar. Reese Jones also dedicates his talent for business development to the Chabot Space & Science Center, where he is a member of the board. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Reese Jones earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics and currently lives in San Francisco.
