Fort Worth, Texas

Richard Vlasich heads Vlasich Associates in Fort Worth, Texas, as the company’s owner. The company currently functions in the real estate and investment realms but has historically acted as a packaging engineering and design firm, having provided professional services to manufacturing companies regarding package design, materials, assembly, graphics, testing, and product protection. The company has served the needs of pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies, veterinary products manufacturers, and hospitals. Richard Vlasich’s ability to engineer economical and effective marketing concepts has generated revenue and stimulated cost savings for clients. He saved one client more than $100,000 a year by redesigning the packaging for a line of welding hardware.

A couple of years after launching Vlasich Associates in 1986, Richard Vlasich simultaneously provided his talents to J. C. Penney Co, Inc., working for three and a half years as Manager for Corporate Packaging and Labeling. In this position, he handled annual budgeting, provided direction for procurement of new packaging, and supervised four senior packaging engineers and two clerical employees serving five of the company’s divisions. Design initiatives managed by Mr. Vlasich achieved major cost savings and included the creation of new garment bags and hangtags. He pushed for more environmentally sensitive packaging at J. C. Penney and introduced the switch from plastic to paper take-home bags at cashier stands.

Along with a talent for design, Richard Vlasich has a keen eye for real estate, directing sales, leases, and maintenance with regard to his own property holdings. He invests in equities that have current market value in order to ensure the financial stability of the company. As the management unit, Mr. Vlasich directs maintenance on all structures, ensuring that all utilities and taxes are current and that properties are in proper working condition for tenants.

Prior to his current endeavors, Mr. Vlasich worked as a Senior Packaging Engineer from 1978 to 1986 for Alcon Laboratories. Working in the surgical, cosmetic, and dermatological divisions of Alcon, he designed and secured three patents for drug delivery devices.

Richard Vlasich has a strong foundation and understanding of the industries he serves, provided by his involvement and education. He served for three years on the Packaging Division of the American Management Association. Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati, he proceeded into the MFA program at Texas Christian University, graduating with an emphasis on three-dimensional art.
