Attorney Robert Agostisi currently serves the City of Long Beach, New York, as Assistant Corporation Counsel. Known as the “City by the Sea,” Long Beach is one of only two cities on Long Island, and the city enjoys a rich cultural history. Focusing his practice in labor-management disputes and collective bargaining, Robert Agostisi is often asked to negotiate and resolve disputes. Involved in trials, arbitrations, and other hearings, Robert Agostisi also assists in cases involving industry and government compliance, and interacts with a range of governmental organizations, including the U.S. and New York State Departments of Labor and the New York State Division of Human Rights. Applying detailed knowledge of the First, Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Constitutional Amendments and related jurisprudence, he works to resolve claims of employment discrimination and other labor, employment, and civil rights matters. Prior to his arrival at the City of Long Beach in 2006, Robert Agostisi worked at Jackson Lewis, LLP, a management-side firm that concentrates in labor and employment. When he accepted the position of Associate for Jackson Lewis, Agostisi had recently graduated from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor. He spent his undergraduate years studying business and political science at the University at Albany, State University of New York, before deciding on a career in law. In addition to his municipal duties as a trial lawyer, government liaison, and advisor and counselor to elected and appointed officials, Robert Agostisi also works to facilitate better communication through instructional writing and process improvement. Among these accomplishments, he authored the City of Long Beach Employee Policy Manual.
