Located in Mesa, Arizona, Robert D. Griego, MD, draws on 15 years of experience in treating patients with skin cancer at his practice, Skin Cancer Specialists, Ltd. An exceptional student, Dr. Griego belonged to the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi while studying at Arizona State University, where he graduated with a BS in Biomedical Engineering. He also held membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while pursuing his medical degree at The University of Arizona College of Medicine. Graduating in the top 5% of his class, Dr. Griego went on to complete fellowships in dermatology at the Baylor College of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Shadyside, as well as the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After completing his training, Dr. Griego opened Skin Cancer Specialists, Ltd., in 1996. He utilizes his extensive expertise to remove skin cancer, opting not to provide cosmetic dermatology or other general services. In 1999, Robert D. Griego, MD, added to his practice by creating Desert Cliffs Ambulatory Surgical Facility, which offers outpatient and same-day surgical procedures that allow his patients to recover from their surgery in the comfort of their own homes. As President and the Medical Director of Desert Cliffs, Robert D. Griego, MD, holds responsibility for the daily operations of the clinic and personally handles some of the procedures there himself.
