RR Company of America, LLC’s Robert Gagnard oversees the development of a wide range of proprieties.

Lafayette, Louisiana

Under the direction of co-owner Robert Gagnard, RR Company of America, LLC, has designed and constructed beautiful Louisiana communities such as Sugar Mill Pond and the Village of River Ranch. Gagnard brings to RR Company 25 years of experience in real estate development, and a desire to create communities with the feel of a small town with the amenities and convenience of a large city. As a central component to the success of his developments, Gagnard specializes in bringing in fine, upscale, yet comfortable and moderately priced dining for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. Inspired by the Café Roma of New Orleans, Robert Gagnard and his associates at RR Company conceived of Romacelli Bistro e Vino, and opened a location in each of these luxury real estate projects. Romacelli offers fresh and casual Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Dishes run from healthy hummus appetizers, gourmet pizzas, and sandwiches, to the more exotic entrées that feature chicken with an Italian spin, and even tilapia with pesto orzo. Romacelli in River Ranch stands at 115 Stonemont Rd. in Lafayette, while hungry diners may find its sibling establishment in Sugar Mill Pond at 220 Prescott Blvd. in Youngsville. Gagnard plans to open another Romacelli Bistro e Vino in Baton Rouge in 2011. In addition, Robert Gagnard incorporated a second restaurant into his River Ranch community, called City Club Bar and Grill. The establishment, open exclusively to members of City Club, offers American cuisine with a Louisiana flare. The restaurant places a high emphasis on local favorites and fresh, seasonal produce. July, 2010
Affiliated with the RR Company of America, LLC, the City Club of Lafayette, which is located in the Village of River Ranch, was founded in 1978. Located in downtown Lafayette until 2002, the club then moved to River Ranch as the primary tenant of the Town Square. With a long list of amenities, the City Club has quickly established itself as the heartbeat of social life in River Ranch. A full-service health club, City Club provides cardiovascular equipment, strength training equipment, exercise classes, personal trainers, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, and a Mind & Body Studio. The club’s day spa, Riverspa, provides members with manicures, pedicures, facials, and massages, among other services. In addition, the members-only City Club Grill & Bar prepares creative and award-winning meals. For the kids, the City Club provides summer camps, youth fitness programs, a kids’ club, and a nursery. Food and wine enthusiasts are invited to join the City Club’s Wine Connoisseur’s Club, which hosts seven-dinner seasons and an elegant gala to celebrate the new year. Each dinner is intricately themed and professionally paired with wines that complement the unique menu. At the end of each event, members are able to purchase additional bottles of the wines that they especially enjoyed. Most recently, a Wine Connoisseur Club dinner featured South African wines. A highlight of the City Club is its gorgeous pool, which is equipped with distinctive water fountains and is open year-round. The club staff provides swimming lessons and can also help you design an exercise plan that will maximize the impact of water resistance. The pool is available for parties for both adults and children, and the club’s restaurant provides high-quality catering for any event from a birthday party to an evening poolside gathering.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors of International BioResources (IBR), headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and Lafayette, Louisiana, I assist in planning the expansion of IBR plasmapheresis centers throughout the United States. The strategic partners of IBR, particularly RR Company of America, LLC, have the capacity to design, locate, and build dozens of new centers per year. Working with a select group of architects and contractors, there have been 33 new center openings in two years—nearly two per month—with 90 percent of them meeting all planned construction target deadlines. In 2010, IBR was proud to announce the opening of its 48th plasma donation center in Fort Worth, Texas, and a 49th center is being planned in South Omaha, Nebraska. With nearly 50 locations throughout the nation, IBR is positioned to produce more than 1 million liters of Source Plasma per year, meeting all FDA and EU regulations, as well as customer requirements. IBR maintains a steady supply of product through plasma supply agreements with various diagnostic and pharmaceutical firms. Managing and operating such a large system of blood plasma centers requires a staff of more than 1,000, including experts in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, administration, business development, and operations and production management. IBR is always seeking qualified individuals to work at plasmapheresis centers, educational training facilities, and corporate offices. On the IBR website, internationalbioresources.com/joomla, there is an easy-to-navigate Career Opportunities section that allows interested professionals to search for job openings at all IBR locations. The positions include donor processors, plasma processors, phlebotomists, and assistant managers. I am proud to be involved in helping IBR expand its reach to communities throughout the United States, ensuring that a consistently high quality of blood plasma is available in widely dispersed geographical locations. At the same time, I am proud of the experienced, quality staff we have maintained to advance IBR’s record of sustained growth.
