Since January 2009, Robert Morelli has served as co-founder and Managing Partner of the New York-based financial firm Sirona Advisors, a division of the privately registered broker dealer AK Capital, LLC. In this position, Robert Morelli leads the company in developing solutions and managing portfolios of mortgage securities for dozens of clients. Specifically, Robert Morelli creates credit- and market-based valuations for securities deemed “hard to value.” Morelli also provides portfolio surveillance, advises clients on ways to restructure investments, and other services. Robert Morelli gained much of his expertise in financial services as an Executive Director for UBS. In his 9 years with the firm, he led the unit responsible for distributing more than 60 collateralized debt obligations (CDO) that equaled $55 billion in notional value. Morelli joined Paine Webber in 1999 as part of the Banking, Structuring, and Warehousing unit. After he had served in this role for four and a half years, UBS acquired Paine Webber, and Morelli joined the Asset-backed Securities (ABS) and CDO Trading team. He later became the Head of Structuring and Syndicate of Mortgage and Asset-backed CDOs. While working for UBS, Morelli met the two executives who joined him in 2009 to form Sirona Advisors. In addition to providing superior client service with Sirona Advisors, Robert Morelli fulfills business-oriented responsibilities to ensure the company remains successful. A graduate of Cornell University, Morelli earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing in 1999.
