Ryan 's Status Updates

Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ryan Triplette is the Director of Government Relations for the Intel Corporation. Prior to joining Intel, Ryan was the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for Ranking Member Arlen Specter prior to his switching political parties, specializing in intellectual property, election and tort reform issues. During the 111th Congress, Ryan focus much of her attention on the pending patent reform legislation, while also working on other copyright and trademark related legislation such as the reauthorization of the satellite home viewer extension act, performance rights, and orphan works. Under Senator Specter’s leadership in the 110th and 109th Congresses, she worked on the Supreme Court nominations of Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Samuel Alito, and the passage of over eight bills into law (S. 3325, the Prioritizing Resources and Organization for Intellectual Property Act of 2008, S. 5, the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005, S. 256, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, H.R. 32, the Stop Counterfeiting in Manufactured Goods Act of 2005, H.R. 683, the Trademark Dilution Revision Act of 2005, H.R. 1036, the Copyright Royalty Judges Program Technical Corrections Act, H.R. 6338, the Geneva Distinctive Emblems Act of 2006 and H.R. 9, the Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Act Reauthorization and Amendments Act of 2006). Ryan has worked on the Judiciary Committee since 2003, hired by then-Chairman Hatch (R-UT) directly out of law school to serve as a Legal Fellow. Within months of joining the Committee, she was promoted to the position of Counsel, specializing in tort reform measures such as asbestos and the enacted class action legislation.

Ryan Triplette is a member of the Virginia State Bar and holds a J.D. from University of Richmond School of Law and B.A. in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. While in law school, Ryan spent a substantial amount of time in Washington D.C., clerking for the counsel’s offices of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Republican National Committee, specializing in election law. Since coming to Washington, she has devoted her personal time and energy to mentoring individuals interested in the intersection of law and politics. Ryan is also a member of several social and philanthropic organizations throughout Washington, D.C.
