Accountant - Ernst & Young

Los Angeles, California

Sabah Mikha laid the foundation for his career in financial services at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he gained expertise through a combination of relevant coursework and hands-on experience. A business economics major who achieved Dean’s Honors for his academic performance, Mr. Mikha chose to enhance his studies with a role at Washington Mutual Bank. For nearly two years, he balanced his commitments as a full-time student with his role as Operations Supervisor at Washington Mutual’s Santa Barbara branch, where he managed a team of tellers and financial representatives, ensured compliance with bank policies and federal regulations, and audited crucial documents. Along with his responsibilities at Washington Mutual, Mr. Mikha also sought to advance his knowledge by completing internships at Commerce Capital Group Securities, LLC, a boutique investment bank based in Santa Barbara; and Ernst & Young LLP, the global professional services firm. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2009, Sabah Mikha relocated to South Bend, Indiana, to matriculate at the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business. As a candidate in the school’s graduate program in accountancy, which recently ranked among the top five accountancy programs nationwide, Mr. Mikha completed core courses in corporate finance, financial policy, and team management, as well as taxes and business strategy. He also pursued specialized studies in financial reporting and assurance services, fulfilling the educational requirement necessary for a license as a Certified Public Accountant. Sabah Mikha received his Master of Science in Accountancy in 2010 and returned to California to join Ernst & Young, where he currently serves as an Accountant in the Assurance Services division. Sabah Mikha lives and works in Los Angeles.
