Currently a resident of the San Francisco Bay area of California, Sabera Kazi has demonstrated a strong record of leadership and scientific excellence in electrical engineering. Working in the industry for nearly 15 years, Ms. Kazi has participated in a wide range of research work at every level, from initial idea development through testing, production, and deployment. She has extensive experience with wireless network activities, loading, and performance as well as automatic modulation classification and parmeterization, signal processing, RF channel characterization, and radio location algorithms, among other topics. Sabera Kazi began studying electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In May 1992, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) summa cum laude. With this excellent background, Sabera Kazi was accepted to the University of Minnesota’s Electrical Engineering program, completing her Master of Science. She then went on to earn a PhD in the program, working with Professor Lori Lucke. From September 2007 to November 2008, Ms. Kazi served as a Senior Communications Systems Analyst at S5 Wireless, Inc. in San Jose, California. As a key member of the Systems Engineering Team, Sabera Kazi worked with the Chief Scientist as they planned and executed research for the company’s successful family of radio location software. She served as the technical lead and a main contributor to the base station deployment planning and network optimization. She also analyzed a wide range of data to identify performance issues and improve the system’s performance in many areas. Sabera Kazi enjoys traveling and focuses her time on visiting quiet places around the world where she can spend time hiking outdoors and meeting local residents.
