Sanal Sasankan received his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in 2001. Subsequently, we worked at SimbaNET (T) Ltd in planning and implementation of IEEE 802.11 wireless networks in Tanzania and Nigeria. Sanal received the M.A.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in cross-layer design of adaptive transmission systems, from University of Victoria, Canada in 2007. During this period, he worked at the Laboratory for Advanced Wireless Communications Research, University of Victoria under the supervision of Dr. Hong-Chuan Yang. His work dealt with improved adaptive transmission techniques for AMC-ARQ wireless systems and their performance analysis. Sanal worked as a 3GPP Compliance Specialist at Research in Motion from 2005 to 2006. Sanal Sasankan is currently a Patent Agent Trainee at Research in Motion Ltd, Waterloo, Canada. He is a member of the IEEE Standards Association and an Engineer in Training with Professional Engineers Ontario.
Sanal is also a founding partner of ArtoAfrica.com – an online art shop promoting African sculptures and paintings.
