Sapinda Deutschland GmbH, which invests in public and private equity as well as debt, operates as a global investment and holding company and is a subsidiary of Sapinda Holding B.V.

In 2004 the investment group Sapinda was co-founded by Lars Windhorst. The corporation was financially primarily run by a prominent South African industrialist family and completed investment transactions in excess of 2 billion Euros over the last 5 years. Due to the financial crisis in 2008 the company underwent a phase of restructuring in the 2nd half year of 2008. In April 2009 the group obtained a revised corporate structure and was capitalized by its shareholders. Lars Windhorst serves as the CEO of Sapinda Deutschland GmbH and its business activities which accounts for one part of the group.
