While studying at the University of Virginia, Sarah was involved in the University Guide Service, Residence Staff, the International Relations Organization, Young Women Leaders, and Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Sarah majored in Echols/Interdisciplinary with a Concentration in American Studies and spent as much of her academic time as possible writing papers on the intersection of feminism and popular culture in such works as “Clueless” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” Outside of the Young Alumni Council, Sarah has been involved in alumni affairs by serving on a regional selection committee for the Jefferson Scholarship and as a trustee for the Class of 2001.
After graduation, Sarah moved to Washington, DC, where she worked for the Advisory Board Company, a strategic health care research firm, as a regional manager. Sarah then attended Duke University School of Law, and graduated in 2006. During the summers of 2004 and 2005, she worked for both Robinson, Bradshaw, & Hinson in Charlotte and Alston & Bird in Atlanta. At Duke, she was a note editor on the Duke Law Journal and a member and Hardt Cup coordinator of the Moot Court Board. Sarah currently works for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals as a Law clerk.
