Biography

After graduating magna cum laude from Duke University, Scott attended Harvard Law School where he graduated cum laude in 2008. He served as the managing editor of the Journal on Legislation.

Scott used his time in law school to gain litigation experience, focusing on criminal law. He first worked in the Organized Crime Strike Force of Boston’s U.S. Attorney office, and later in the litigation section of Ropes & Gray. He then worked as a student prosecutor in downtown Boston, where he negotiated plea agreements and prepared jury trials for defendants charged with a variety of property and assault crimes.

Scott also worked on the law school’s Board of Student Advisors, where he taught and advised first year students in the legal research and writing class.

After graduation, he clerked for Justice Robert Cordy of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Scott currently works in the Civil Division of Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General.
