Scott is an attorney with Mayhall & Blaize, LLC, a Baton Rouge law firm specializing in oil and gas law.

Scott was previously the Executive Counsel with the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources – Office of Mineral Resources. He served as the industry liaison for exploration and production companies in Louisiana’s energy sector.

Scott graduated from Washington & Lee University with a BA in English in 2002. After college, he worked in Washington, DC for the Energy Intelligence Group. In 2006, he graduated from the LSU Law Center with a JD/BCL. Before coming to work for the state, Scott practiced law in Shreveport with a focus on defense litigation.
