Serving the people of New York City for the past two decades, Scott Sedor has evidenced his dedication and skill in the quality of his law enforcement work. After completing his Police Academy training in 1985, Scott Sedor took on a plain-clothes assignment, functioning as part of the Queens Task Force at Shea Stadium. In this capacity, Scott Sedor ensured the general public’s safety during stadium events through alcohol enforcement and general crowd control. In 1992, Scott Sedor transitioned out of the Queens Task Force, joining a Special Operation Division in the Movie and Television Unit. For the next five years, Scott Sedor served as security protection for high-profile clientele, including well-known actors and producers. Also functioning as a liaison between film industry professionals and the residents of New York City, Scott Sedor established guidelines and facilitated relationships that allowed civilians and business owners to go about their daily lives, maintaining a sense of normalcy during location shoots. In 1997, Scott Sedor leveraged his experience in security detail as a member of a merger team focusing on school safety. In this role, Scott Sedor provided instruction for the newly formed Board of Education Security Force. Reporting directly to the Chief of School Safety, Scott Sedor also analyzed crime and incident data, implementing strategic plans targeted at lowering incidents of crime throughout his jurisdiction. After several years, Scott Sedor was presented with the opportunity to utilize his training skills in a different manner. Accepting a position in NYPD’s Executive Development division, Scott Sedor was placed in charge of the training curriculum for the department’s high-ranking officers. Researching and developing new courses in accordance with Police Department policy, Scott Sedor also supervised the process of contacting and scheduling keynote speakers for departmental forums, overseeing the proper allocation of funds to support these events. Exhibiting an aptitude for leadership and organization throughout his career, Scott Sedor now employs his talents in the NYPD’s Medical Division. Responsible for the medical screenings of police officers and civilian title candidates, Scott Sedor facilitates the daily operations of the department’s drug screening unit, also ensuring compliance with Occupational and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates. In addition to his dedicated work for the NYPD, Scott Sedor is also a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that provides assistance to injured war veterans.
