Scott Tom wields an impressive history of volunteer work and charity support that began during his time at the University of Montana. While attending school in Montana, Scott Tom supported the Boys and Girls Club of Missoula and the Missoula Food Bank. Scott Tom also volunteered with various YMCA youth programs in the Missoula area. Scott Tom’s work with the Missoula Food Bank helped the organization provide emergency food services to struggling local populations. The Food Bank allocates an impressive amount of food, over 200 tons each year, which requires a large volunteer staff. With fresh produce, canned goods, baked goods, and even baby food, Scott Tom and other Food Bank workers participated in a diverse and healthy food donation service. After leaving Montana, Scott Tom continued to provide charitable contributions in other states. Tom played an important role in “Donate Cars to Charity,” a Washington-based event that provides a variety of funding resources for other local charities. Scott Tom managed local vehicle donations for the program, bringing in a solid finance stream for other nonprofit organizations, including Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind, American Diabetes Association, and Volunteers of America. Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind supplies a variety of resources for the blind. With a wide range of employment and support services for the visually impaired, the Lighthouse has become an important Seattle resource and has grown with the support of fundraisers like Scott Tom.
