Shad White is a junior political science and economics major attending the University of Mississippi where he serves as student body treasurer. He is originally from rural Jones County, Miss. Shad has dedicated his time over the last two years to lowering textbook costs for low income students through lobbying the state legislature and the Board of Trustees. As Chairman of College Republicans, he was a prime mover in organizing a bi-partisan regional symposium on funding for public K-12 education. Last summer, Shad lived in El Salvador, working in a girl’s orphanage for over two months.
