Shane Hedges believes in educating, motivating and inspiring young people. This inner vision helped him become president of a leading national company in the education sector. In his leadership position, Shane Hedges maintains a multitude of responsibilities crucial to the sustained success of the company. Some of Shane Hedges’ responsibilities include developing the company’s strategic growth plans, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring sustained profitability in a competitive marketplace. Mr. Hedges is also responsible for leading a large team in developing new and pedagogically sound education programs.

Shane Hedges came to his current employer in early 2003. At this time, Shane Hedges held the position of Financial Analyst for the company, where he helped identify opportunities for growth. Showing significant potential in this role, Shane Hedges was soon promoted to the executive position of Managing Director of Education. As the Managing Director of Education, Shane Hedges led a large team of employees in developing new educational programs, implementing them throughout the country, and expanding the company’s preexisting programs to new markets. Shane Hedges managed 7 senior directors, 73 fulltime employees, and over 1,000 temporary employees in his role. By the end of his tenure as Managing Director of Education, Shane Hedges’ teams were running 57 programs in 30 U.S. states and 5 other continents, and his programs helped over 50,000 young students grow as scholars.

Shane Hedges honed his business skills as a high-level consultant to the Washington, D.C. firm of Foley & Lardner. As a Strategic Communications Consultant, Shane Hedges helped his clients identify new revenue streams and intelligently assess the competitive landscape. A graduate of American University, Shane Hedges earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Law, and Economics & Government. Recently, Shane Hedges returned to academics as a student at the University of Maryland, where he earned a Master’s degree in Business and Management.
