Sharing Arab perceptions of the United States

28, Cairo, Egypt

A Minnesota native and recent graduate of Brown University, Shannon holds a BA in both Middle East Studies and Latin American Studies. She has worked extensively on social justice issues at home and abroad. Her most recent project, “Arab Perceptions of the United States” (www.arabperceptions.wordpress.com) presents a collection of video interviews with everyday people from the Middle East. Shannon’s goal in creating this site was to provide a space in which individual Jordanians and Syrians could express their opinions about the United States openly and also to create a means through which Americans could listen to firsthand accounts from the region.
